I have managed to find myself in a very interesting position in the world right now. I mean, I'm well aware that we are all going through a mass trauma. A worldwide, cataclysmic event if you will. An event that is affecting everyone, everywhere.
Yet, I am acutely aware that I am experiencing something of an anomaly in my experience. Here’s why.
About a year ago, I made the decision that my skills were best utilized to help the Healer’s of the World. “Healer’s” meaning folks that were in the holistic wellness fields. That ranged, in my mind, from acupuncturists, to estheticians (focusing on natural skincare), to massage therapists, to intuitives, to plant medicine workers, to basically anyone working on the health of our communities by connecting to what Dr. Wayne Dyer would call, “Source Energy.”
As many know, one of my master skills is the ability to manifest the work that I want to do. I can think it up in one moment and within days, it will appear. And so mote it be.
So quickly, I found three amazing clients. I didn’t even say what I was doing out loud. They just came to me. A whirlwind of creating, rebranding, building systems, networking, marketing efforts, and interpersonal relationships was swirling around me. I loved it and was overwhelmed by the humanity of it all. The fear, the sickness, the responsibility, and the heart that I have been standing witness to and holding space for, has been some of the most fulfilling work I will ever do.
However, I almost gave up many times. There were circumstances I was thrown into that I did not sign up for. But every time I wanted to walk away, a voice, my guide who I now listen to with reverence and awe, told me I had to stay. There was nowhere else for me to be and there was more work to be done.
Then, the World got sick. Actually, the World has been sick. The Earth just finally made us go to our rooms and take a nap!
The conversations that I have now with my colleagues and clients are focused on what the New World we are building will look like. As Healer’s we have an innate understanding that we are responsible for birthing this New World into being. I say, “birthing” because it is a feminine, mother energy that is guiding us. The pendulum is shifting from a masculine, yang energy of dominance and assertiveness, to the feminine yin energies of sensitivity, creativity, and intuitiveness. We are riding the wrecking ball, poised to jump in, clear the rubble away, and excavate the gems in all of humankind, finding our equilibrium again.
So that’s where my extraordinary position comes in. I am being called to help facilitate these changes. There is a place for all of us in this transition. My place is to use the tools of human innovation to spread the word of a Revolution that I believe wholeheartedly, that we all know is here and that we are a part of, whether we’d like to be or not. And so, I write. I write to spread the word of groups that are starting. Powerful collectives of individuals that are demystifying the internal dialogues that keep us from growing as people, to allow us to finally shine the Truth on our humanity. The truth that YOU are more powerful than you have ever expressed. That your softness is what the Earth needs right now. Your tears, your art, your music, your creativity, your voice, your gardening, your listening skills, your teaching.
I’d like you to take a moment right now. Close your eyes. Take 5 deep breaths. What was it that you wanted to be as a child? What does your mini-you tell you that they need? Then, honor that. Because that is what you were meant to do, right now in this time.
It is so easy for us to all think that we will go back to “normal” after the Shelter-in-Place limits have been lifted. Our mammalian brains keep us looking for what is familiar, what is comfortable, what seems easy and safe. Our old 9-5’s, our busy schedules, our dependence on food delivery systems, healthcare systems, education systems, and even just how we wipe our own asses...none of it has served us efficiently. And it definitely has not served the Earth efficiently.
